What is the concept of pipe screw lathe?
Pipe thread lathe, also known as pipe thread lathe, consists of three series: One is a horizontal lathe with a diameter of φ400-1600 mm and a length of 750-10000 mm, the second is a pipe thread lathe with a spindle aperture of φ130-440 mm, and the third is a variety of large hole lathes, big head lathes, special machine tools and so on. Products are widely used in machinery manufacturing, petroleum, chemical, coal, geological exploration, urban water supply and drainage and other industries of mechanical processing. Pipe thread lathes are mainly divided into ordinary pipe thread lathes and CNC pipe thread lathes according to different control and operation methods.
The pipe screw lathe is generally provided with a large hole on the headstock, and the workpiece is gripped by two chucks at both ends of the spindle for rotating movement after passing through the hole. There are generally two ways to feed the tool: one is the same as the ordinary lathe by the lead screw to drive the slide and the tool holder in front of the bed; The other is achieved by the flat comb external thread cutting head (see automatic opening thread cutting head) on the slide located in the center of the bed into the workpiece and then move forward. Some machine tools for processing long pipes are also equipped with workpiece support devices, such as center frame, tool holder, and rear support.

At present, the spindle aperture of the pipe screw lathe is mainly 135mm~500mm, the maximum rotating diameter of the workpiece on the bed is 630mm~1200mm, and the maximum length of the workpiece is 750mm~15000mm.
